Call to Order: A Meeting of St Paul NAPS Branch # 104. Meeting was held at Joseph’s Grill, 104 S Wabasha St. St Paul, MN on March 22, 2022. The meeting convened at 6:42 pm with President, Rob Moore presiding.
In Attendance: Officers Present: President, Rob Moore, Vice President, Steve Henjum, Secretary, Elizabeth “Izzy” Ortiz, Treasurer, John Junek, Trustee, Louis Soukey, and NDC Vice President, Patrick Bird was excused. Guests Present: Elly Soukey, Auxiliary Members Present: No members in attendance Officers Reports: President: Rob Moore Vice President / Legislative Rep: Steve Henjum Secretary: Elizabeth “Izzy” Ortiz Treasurer: John Junek Trustee: Louis Soukey Treasurers Report: As if March 1, 2022 Secretary’s Report: No report Committee Reports: Soc & Rec; No report Previous Meeting Minutes: Additions and corrections: None to be made. VP, Steve Henjum made motion to accept the minutes for January 25, 2022. Treasurer, John Junek 2nd that motion. All in favor. Motion passed.

Old Business:

• Communications – discussion of sending memorials. Tabled until next meeting

• Websites – still researching costs.

§ Newsletters – Office Max; cost of printing, folding, tabbing, and labeling. Check on postcards as well.

§ Social Media – Facebook page; change from public to private group and invite members to join.

§ Update: Secretary, Izzy Ortiz has created a website.

ü   Izzy discussed costs and plans for site upkeep

ü   Trustee, Louis Soukey, made a motion to move plan from the Hatchling Plan of $2.75/month to the Business Plan of $5.25/month.

• North Central VP, Dan Mooney discussed upcoming events.

§ Legislative Training Seminar (LTS)

ü Dates – March 27 through March 29, 2022, in Washington, DC

ü Registration Cost – $225 if before March 6, 2022, $300 from March 6 to March 13, 2022

ü North Area VP, Tammi Rimer – restrictions are in place

ü    Update LTS: Discuss Postal Reform. Tammy has the talking points.  The agenda for LTS is on the NAPS Headquarters website.

§ Regional Training Seminar

ü Dates – April 8 through April 9, 2022, in Indianapolis, IN

ü Registration Cost – $179; no registration $100

ü 650 Representation class

ü Update Regional Training: President, Rob Moore and VP, Steve Henjum plant to attend.

§ State Convention

ü Dates – June 10 through June 11, 2022, at Fair Hills Resort, Detroit Lakes, MN

ü Update State Convention: Discussion on holding elsewhere and not a Fair Hills. Checking cost and availability at Hinckley Grand Casino.

ü Up to 6 members will attend.

§ National Convention

ü Dates – August 8 through August 12, 2022, in New Orleans, LA

ü Registration Cost – $165 must be registered by July 5, 2022

ü Committee – Submit nominees

• Discussion of how many members to send and who to send. The costs and member who will be attending events will be tabled until next meeting.

§ State Convention

ü      St Paul Branch will be hosting

ü      VP, Steve Henjum made motion to send up to 6 members

•          Trustee, Louis Soukey 2nd that motion.

ü      Voted, all in favor, Motion passed.

§ National Convention

ü      VP, Steve Henjum made motion to send up to 7 members

•          Trustee, Louis Soukey 2nd that motion.

ü       Attendees will include the 5 officers and 2 members

§ VP, Steve Henjum made motion to compensate Secretary, Izzy Ortiz up to 30 hours for personal time taken for creating the website.

ü Discussion and decision reflected $15 on what the state members are being paid.

ü Trustee, Louis Soukey made a motion to pay $450 to cover the cost of website to Secretary, Izzy Ortiz.

ü VP, Steve Henjum, 2nd the motion. Voted, all in favor. Motion passed.

• Auxiliary Dues – to be paid every 2 years

§ $60 per year

§ Secretary, Izzy made motion that Branch 104 support the Auxilary and pay the $120 for 2 years.

§ Trustee, Louis Soukey 2nd the motion. Voted and all in favor. Motion passed.
