Meeting Minutes March 21, 2023

 Call to Order:  A Meeting of St Paul NAPS Branch # 104. Meeting was held at Joseph’s Grill, 104 S Wabasha St. St Paul, MN on March 21, 2023. The

meeting convened @ 6:32 pm with President, Rob Moore presiding.

 

Officers Present:  President, Rob Moore, Secretary, Elizabeth “Izzy” Ortiz, Treasurer, John Junek, Trustee, Louis Soukey, Trustee / South Area VP, Andrea Lynch and Legislative Rep, Aricka Sundstrom

Members Present:  Julianne Vance, Sheri Dornbusch, Bridgette Smith, Matt Nelson,, Eric Kentt, Kadee Miller, Jill Rollenhagen, Incha Krein, Lucas Cheney, and Neil Baker

Guest:  National Officer Central Region VP, Dan Mooney,  Auxiliary, Central Region VP, Elly Soukey

 

President Report: Rob Moore

  • Steve Henjum and Izzy Ortiz have resigned from their positions.
  • Appointed Andrea Lynch to replace Steve as Vice President
  • Appointed Julianne Vance as the 3rd Trustee.
  • Appointed Kadee Miller to replace Izzy Ortiz
  • Look into changing banks
  • Treasurer, John Junek was able to get registration refunds for both Henjum and Ortiz

Vice President Report:  Vacant

 

Legislative Representive Report:  Aricka Sundstrom

  • LTS – All but 4 Senators have confirmed

Treasurer Report:   Available to view upon request 

 

Secretary’s Report:  Elizabeth “Izzy” Ortiz

  Submitted expense reports for renewal of website for another year and postcards for meeting.

 

Trustee Report: Louis Soukey

  • No report

Committee Reports:  Soc & Rec; No report. Need to contact Nicole regarding Soc & Rec committee.

 

Previous Meeting Minutes:

       Additions and corrections: None to be made.

       Trustee, Louis Soukey made motion to accept the minutes for January 24, 2022. Neil Baker 2nd that motion. Voted and motion passed.

Old Business

  • President, Rob Moore discussed and touch on statement on Postmaster General’s announcement of 3% pay iincrease and raises.
  • Audits – take place once a year. Decision to be made after May meeting.
  • LTS – Legislative Training Seminar

ü   How many to send – 4 or 5 in past

ü   Requirements – Boards and training;
members must be in good standing and attended 3 meetings.

ü   Aricka is working with Tammy; 8
congressional districts

ü   Discussion of getting business cards

ü   Cost – estimating $2,000 per member

ü   Dates – 3/25 – 3/29/2023

ü   VP, Steve Henjum made motion to send 5
members. Trustee, Louis Soukey 2nd the motion. Voted and motion
passed.

ü   Central Area Auxiliary VP – Elly Soukey

ü   Submitted a request to see if Branch 104 would
cover part of her expenses for LTS. VP Steve Henjum made motion to cover
expenses requested. Secretary, Izzy Ortiz 2nd the motion. Voted and
motion passed.

o   Registration $225

o   Room $1400

o   Per Diem $70 – $75

ü   State Convention

ü      Minneapolis Branch 16 Hosting

ü      Dates: 5/11 – 5/12

ü      Location: The Suites Canal Park

ü      VP, Steve Henjum made motion to send up to
12 members

o    $600 – $10,000

o   Steve amended motion to send up to 20
members

o   Aricka 2nd motion. Voted and
motion passed

ü  The Branch Constitution – need
volunteers to update

New Business

  • State Convention

       Up to 20 members

       Rob Moore, John Junek, Andrea Lynch, Aricka Sundstrom, Julianne Vance, Neil Baker, Louis and Elly Soukey

       Need commitment, willing to represent and to be active with members

       Others willing to attend; Lucas Cheney, Kurtis Morrissette, Sheri Dornbusch, Bridgette Smith, Kadee Miller and Jill Rollenhagen

       Trustee, Louis Soukey stated that there are no meeting requirements and will get paid registration and lodging.

       Discussed hospitality suite

       State only contributes $200

       Neil Baker mentioned in the Constitution, host gets to select venue

       Duluth should be placed back into rotation of hosts.

       Registration $75 or $100 to Bruce Kuiper

       State pays for Andrea Lynch and Aricka Sundstrom

       Donations, auctions, raffles – any monetary given take value for SPAC Contributions

       Number of members in branches

Ø   Duluth – 19

Ø   State – 68

Ø   St Paul – 168

Ø   Minneapolis – 157

       Next year State Convention – present to change

Ø   Trustee, Louis Soukey – Country Inn Suites

Ø Possible Quad State – North Dakota South Dakota and Wisconsin are willing.
